'Rich in age' event in Crickhowell

Seventy people from across the Swansea and Brecon Diocese, and beyond, have been exploring the opportunities for serving older people – those ‘rich in age and experience’ – at a day in Crickhowell in the Brecon Beacons, put on by the Church of Wales. Congratulations Sally Rees

Wales has a significant new advocate in The Gift of Years network member the Revd Sally Rees, from Crickhowell, who had organised the diocesan training day. We’re delighted to announce that Sally has also been appointed by the Archbishop of Wales as ‘Bishop’s Officer for older people's ministry for Swansea and Brecon Diocese’. Inaugural training course at Cliff College

A brand-new short course at Cliff College, Derbyshire, on Ministry among Older People was dubbed ‘inspirational’, ‘excellent’ and ‘affirming’. It was ‘a privilege to be on this course,’ added another of the 26 participants on this first-ever Certificate Short Course on the subject, which the theological college has offered. Forget-me-not services

Alton’s Anna Chaplains have inaugurated a regular Forget Me Not service to highlight the importance of supporting people living with dementia and their carers. All Saints Church was the venue for the new service led by Anna Chaplain, the Revd Rachel Sturt, along with Debbie Thrower and Anna Friend, Kate Dando, and her daughter Christine, who have been raising funds for dementia charities for many years.
